1951 - Getulio Vargas is back

Getulio Vargas becomes Brazil's 17th President of Brazil. The people celebrate.

Getulio Vargas was inaugurated as President of Brazil (elected with almost 50% of the popular vote) on 31st Januray 1951. It was a Wednesday... the popular party would go on with Carnival starting on the Friday 2nd February 1951 and stopping only in the morning of Ash Wednesday 7 February 1951. 

Brazil witnessed one of its most joyous moments in its entire history during this festive week .
